To keep your energy levels high during a virtual presentation, start by standing up—it naturally boosts your presence and vocal strength. Do a quick physical warm-up beforehand to shake off tension. Keep water nearby and take intentional breaths to stay grounded. Use hand gestures and facial expressions to stay animated, even if the audience’s cameras are off. Imagine you’re speaking to one person, not a screen, to create a sense of connection. Energy is contagious, and when you feel engaged and purposeful, your audience will too even through the screen.

Virtual events can be exhausting, especially when done back to back. It's definitely a different energy when you're hosting, than when you're participating, but back to back events can be tricky. I like taking a moment to make sure I have my setup optimized - enough light in the room, a glass of water, maybe something sweet to give you a little boost. I then stop to shake it out, literally move my body around, to get the energy flowing, reset and start. Lastly, if possible, I like to plan out my events so they're at a time I feel more energetic in. Whether you're an early bird or a night owl finding that sweet spot that works for you and your audience can make a world of difference.

Virtual presentations can be draining, but keeping your energy up is key to keeping your audience engaged. Here’s what works: - Stand Up & Move – Presenting while standing naturally boosts energy and helps with vocal projection. - Use High-Impact Openers – A question, a bold statement, or a quick story grabs attention and sets the tone. - Engage Every Few Minutes – Polls, chats, or quick Q&As prevent monotony and keep the energy dynamic. - Prep Like It’s a Live Event – Good lighting, a strong mic, and a distraction-free setup make a huge difference in confidence. - Hydrate & Breathe – Small sips of water and deep breaths between sections help maintain clarity and focus.

Arrive Early – Being present before the session starts allows the speaker to connect with the audience, ensure a smooth technical setup, and create a comfortable environment. Incorporate Personal Stories – Sharing relevant stories adds a personal touch, making the session more engaging. Stories appeal to both intellect and emotions, helping the audience relax and connect with the speaker. Maintain a Positive Mindset – A speaker’s mindset drives the energy of the presentation. Staying confident and enthusiastic encourages audience engagement. Stay Hydrated – Keeping water handy helps maintain vocal clarity and prevents fatigue.
