- The key aspect here is finding the right pace of transition from tradition to trends. It is always important to make an evolution and no revolution. Players do not like to be overwhelmed by new trends. - New Gameplay trends are mostly introduced through new technology and/or new devices. Implementing those trends should be evaluated carefully and can be the key for success or fail.

I feel like it always comes down to "what is the purpose of this trend/tradition. " A lot of traditions existed due to technical limitations, or limited knowledge about players but now, we have the information to discern what rules are there for a reason, and what rules can be broken. I also think traditions shouldn't stifle innovation, experimentation and making something unique is paramount to games as both an art form and a Business (at least with smaller games) so if your idea requires the breaking of a few rules, try it out and see what you can make, maybe you'll make some new rules ? 🤷
