-In my experience, the gap between efficiency focus and quality of work stems from a lack of understanding the “why”. They are both important on their own, and more important as a pair. But in a high volume environment it needs to be explained to those performing their duties that lacking in quality, and expecting to make it up in tasks completed or time consumed, can be a leading cause of double work or extra down time. Setting quality standards and inspecting them is the duty of management, but works best when encouraged as a peer review. When a set level of quality expectation is met, then efficiency procedures can be placed to shorten time consumed.

Explain how quality translates to long-term efficiency gains, reduced costs, and increased customer satisfaction. * Empower Team Members: Encourage team members to take ownership of quality. Give them the autonomy to make decisions that impact quality and hold them accountable for the results. * Recognize and Reward the quality tasks
