Ask for a potential push back of the date. Too many games now a days release unfinished and are expected to be patched later on. Releasing with “known shippables” has been a real problem with recent releases thanks to cloud streaming. Publishers should be aware that releasing a game that’s broken won’t do well with word of mouth sales. It’s better to come out properly from the beginning. Consumer confidence with decline when games are released like this.

It depends on the publisher but in most cases, you work with your QA department, Production, CQC, 1st party, the submissions team and go "All hands on deck" like we've done each and every year during submissions. These questions are a bit vague so hard to not write a book but having done over 28 titles with the likes of EA, Sony, etc. the process is dynamic and one has to be able to address the issue in a timely manner. Critical bugs aka show stoppers can be found any time and it is the make up of the team, their ability to adapt and shift resources in an effective manner that determines the success of the launch. Having done this many times, it may be stressful but it ends up successful.
