Agile and lean construction management approaches have specific practices for this purpose. 1. Build trust between all parties and individuals, for transparency. 2. Visualize the progress, let them plan the work continuously and encourage interaction between teams while planning. 3. Let them commit each other after planning.

To align the team and ensure project success, consider the following points: 1. Emphasize that having different approaches is not negative; it fosters creativity and problem-solving. Teams can combine these ideas to identify a solution that best aligns with the project’s critical path. 2. Highlight that while healthy differences encourage innovation, they must remain focused on finding the optimal way to complete the project, avoiding any divergence in targets and goals that could lead to chaos. 3. Stress the importance of unified leadership: appointing a dynamic, experienced leader capable of listening, guiding, and aligning the team toward project success.

Once you are in the construction phase the timelines are set - see the schedule or contract if you are not sure. As the construction manager, you own the schedule, scope and budget. So what are your team disagreeing about?: • interpreting the schedule- you own it, explain it • doubts about achieving it - you own it, lead the team to success • task sequence - you own the outcome, support the team in sorting this out themselves Leadership is not just about being nice to everyone, you must align and motivate the team towards achieving an objective - the same objective you accepted when you accepted the job.
