In my experience, the below are the major benefits i could observe. Cost Reduction is the most important objective any organization would look for while implementing RPA solutions. Quality being the second objective , according to me, is aimed at reducing the human errors. Then come the time savings. This is one the major objective since RPA aims at automating the repetitive and time consuming tasks. Having said all this, there is something called in scope and out of scope for RPA. Everything which is Rule-Base, Stable and Standardized will be in scope for RPA. Few of which can include Web Automation, PDF Automation, API etc. Out of Scope for RPA could be voice recognition, sensor detection, touch detection etc..

Setting objectives and clear acope plays an important role as for two reasons 1. This helps in not wasting the time to solve the problem that is very complex to solve and which takes more time 2. This also lets us go in the right direction and not deviate from it If the scope is not set properly there might be cases where we are trying to automate the piece which has many decisions points and may lead to human intervention which is more time consuming than the actual process If the objectives are not laid out we go with automating any piece aimlessly and at the end we see that the ROI takes a hit and no value is realizedby doing those tasks and ultimately people loose confidence

By doing this, we can test the bot part by part to see if there are any issues encountered and fix them before doing the next phase so that we can ensure that the bot is working as expected. And by using the agile method, we can discuss any changes in the requirement and change it accordingly, as long as they are within the scope.

In my experience I feel following are to be managed 1. Does this involve business value? 2. Is it solving the specific problem assigned or reducing it? 3. Are there more external decisions points? If so is there any effect on having human in loop and how those can be solved? 4. The shift should be done smoothly and expand more on top so that we get a chance to stabilize and that would give more confidence for the next ones to come 5. Maintainance plans an important role in this whole journey as a change in ui application can trigger a change for bots so think of them and watchout for the updates or periodically check them

Be it any process, its highly significant to manage the platform after deployment. Have regular follow ups, understand bot utilization, fix the issues which has high impact, monitor them on regular basis, establish clear governance policies, define roles and permissions.
