When IT talks about technology and the business talks about impact, data governance without coordination remains a vision. What is needed is a common ground that helps both sides to work together effectively ... 🔍 Implement a semantic layer: standardized business definitions bridge the gap and ensure that everyone speaks the same data language. 🔐 Use a data platform that focuses on governance: Built-in controls optimize access, security and compliance without friction. 🤝 Encourage cross-team collaboration: Regular joint workshops ensure that governance is not an IT problem, but a shared responsibility that increases business value.

Understand each business’s need and concern, and try to find the hidden dependencies why they struggle. Find a common interest and bring them onboard. Let the numbers speak. With the Finance department you need to talk about the saving on opex and tax free after the successful implementation; with the Legal Department you need to talk about compliance and policies ; with the Corporate Communication you mention ESG and reducing footprint; with HR you talk about people experience and lean way of working.
