I completely understand the challenge of balancing grading and lesson planning, especially when both demand so much time and attention. One approach that helps is setting designated time blocks for each task. I try to schedule specific periods for grading and separate ones for planning so that one doesn't spill into the other. Using rubrics and clear assessment criteria also makes grading more efficient while giving students consistent feedback. For lesson planning, I find that building reusable templates and incorporating student-led activities reduces the prep workload while keeping lessons engaging. Sometimes, batching similar tasks or using technology for automation can save hours.

Ich empfehle eine Weiterbildung in dem Bereich zu machen. Sowie den Mut zu haben Arbeitskollegen und Vorgesetzte um Hilfe zu fragen.

Batching similar tasks: Grading similar assignments in one go can improve efficiency and reduce mental context-switching. Collaborating with colleagues: Sharing lesson planning ideas and grading rubrics can save time and foster a sense of community. Setting realistic expectations: It's okay to not grade every single assignment immediately. Focusing on providing timely feedback on key assessments is more impactful than being overwhelmed by a mountain of paperwork. Incorporating student self-assessment: empowering students to self assess not only reduces the grading load, but also promotes student ownership of learning.
