Agree upon a communication tool (slack etc) and how and when communication is expected (at the completion of said task or phase, if trouble arises) Make sure there are people in your group who can translate / mediate between specialties (clinical and business. Tech and non tech)

There is never ONE way of communicating - to be effective you need to: • Understand your dominant communication style, its strengths, and its limitations. • Know other communication styles and their effectiveness. • Be aware of what your audience (diverse team members) and context require, and apply different techniques as necessary As John Powell, a famous film score composer puts it – communication works for those who work at it.

Clarity, inclusivity, and alignment drive communication. I establish shared terminology to bridge disciplines, use structured check-ins to keep momentum, and promote asynchronous collaboration for diverse working styles. Encouraging open dialogue ensures every voice is heard and valued.

Good points! However, in my experience managing diverse interdisciplinary teams across Latin America and Europe, one fundamental aspect is missing: clearly defining the team’s mission, vision, and targets in simple, accessible language. To achieve this, it’s crucial to involve team members in the definition process. As a leader or company representative, you provide the guidelines, but it is the team that will enrich, unify, and empower everyone with a shared spirit from the very beginning.
