To unite a team facing discord over a mechanical problem, start by shifting the focus from individual disagreements to the shared goal of solving the issue. Facilitate an open discussion where each member can present their perspective without interruption, fostering mutual understanding. Encourage collaborative brainstorming sessions to combine expertise and explore innovative solutions. Define clear roles and responsibilities, emphasizing how each contribution supports the team’s success. As a leader, remain neutral and focused, guiding the group toward a data-driven, consensus-based decision, reinforcing teamwork and the value of diverse input.

I know that people don't like someone controlling everything. In a group atmosphere you would want everyone to believe it was their idea that created the outcome. They want to feel appreciated. Therefore becoming better and more enthusiastic about their job. Win win!!

In my experience most people have their own opinions and everyone seems to have a piece of the puzzle. A good leader hears everyone out and brings the best forward. Everyone feels important and crucial to solving the problems when some of their thought and ideas make it to the solution board.

Give in your teams member the opportunity to express their opinion, also remind your team that we are all working towards the same solution and that disagreement can be constructive.
