It's simply really? We have two ears and one mouth for a reason. Ask what would help the most, and deliver on it. Giving the client a mix of what they want and what they really need is always the best option long-term.

In functional training, feedback is crucial to helping clients improve performance and achieve their goals. Whether it’s adjusting form, providing encouragement, or fine-tuning technique, consistent, constructive feedback drives progress and boosts confidence. By actively listening, offering real-time corrections, and celebrating small wins, you create a supportive environment where clients feel empowered to push further.

Client feedback should be top priority, without clients you have no business. Now that said, if there are other stakeholders patients etc. who are not "clients" they are always #1.

Clients often have feedback prior to their release of training programs- little tweaks or adjustments that can actually help their confidence in the project. Understanding that testing in smaller groups prior to the launch can give them more insight and hard data to understand if the material is valuable or not. It also allows them to check their feedback too. Often the best approach is to listen to their SME team to ensure their insights are consistent with their sponsors goals. If they are not- the feedback might be better directed at their own experts and the leadership expectations, not the product created by you. Learn to ask good questions during the feedback session to determine the who/why of the comments given.
