It is absolutely paramount to ensure your team members, remote or otherwise, feel as though the job they get up everyday to come and give their time and talents to is worth it. Reiterating, or demonstrating exactly how your teams efforts are contributing, and have contributed to the ongoing success of production or a great release is a good way to make sure people feel acknowledged. Everybody, in some way or other, needs to be validated. If you can identify and communicate empathetically how people's work is directly, and specifically translating into success for the business, then you should make a point of it often, and authentically.

I think it can be as easy as going out of your way to say hi and have a candid conversation with someone. Try to engage in their life and empathize with them. Remember something important to them and follow up later about it. This helps engagement, makes them feel heard and important that you remembered and reached out. After listening, it is easy to go out of your way to tell their supervisor that you appreciated their work on such and such. That recognition is important to feel like a contributing team member.
