De acuerdo a mi experiencia es importante definir la estrategia de las familias de productos principales, ya que existen familias de componentes que tienen una alta complejidad y alto costo para desarrollar varios proveedores, por costos de herramentales, costos de validaciones o restricciones de proveeduria de los clientes. Por lo que en ocasiones se tiene que mitigar el riesgo por otros medios, como contratos para blindar el abastecimiento, donde los proveedores tienden a darle prioridad a los clientes con contratos con los que tienen compromisos y pudieran tener penalizaciones.
