In our May Q1 trading update, we shared our significant progress in enhancing our e-commerce operations and online customer offer. We saw: 📈 Group e-commerce sales growth of 9.3%, with online sales penetration reaching 20% (working towards our longer-term ambition of 30%) 🇫🇷 Castorama continued to scale its online marketplace, with penetration reaching 17% after just one year 🇬🇧 B&Q’s marketplace participation reached 45% in Q1 (up from 41% in Q1 24/25), focusing on bringing in international vendors and expanding the range of products available Watch this space for further developments, as we continue to invest in our offer and bring our customers greater speed, convenience and choice.

In our Q1 trading update in May, we updated on our strong progress against our trade priorities. Across the Group, trade penetration was 17% compared to 13% in Q1 24/25. This followed: 🇬🇧 The UK, where TradePoint UK sales increased by 7.4%. 🇫🇷 BRICO DÉPÔT, where trade penetration reached 12% (up from 8% in Q1 24/25). 🇵🇱 Poland, where Castorama Polska Sp. z o.o.'s trade penetration doubled from 12% in Q1 24/25 to 25% this year. With our medium term ambition of reaching £1bn of sales at TradePoint in the UK and Ireland, doubling trade sales penetration in France, and achieving 30% penetration in Poland, we are on track to achieve our target by showing up for tradespeople with the products, tools and equipment they need, where they need it.

Last week, over 100 of our leadership team from across all of our banners joined together in France for a two-day strategy event focused on connection, collaboration and inspiration. They were hosted on visits to the Castorama Antibes and BRICO DÉPÔT Nice stores where they saw first-hand the energy and passion of our store colleagues in France. They were also immersed in our Own Exclusive Brands (OEB), hearing from customers, suppliers and colleagues, before getting hands-on with the products led by our brilliant OEB brand teams.
