Another fantastic Healthy Eating on a Budget group graduated this week at Fitzrovia Community Centre! We welcomed graduates from our previous group who returned as volunteers. All participants passed their Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene training! To celebrate, we held a cooking competition where everyone put their new skills and knowledge into practice. We finished with a delicious feast made by the group 💚 We’re looking forward to starting our next group at Fitzrovia in September! #FEAST #HealthyEating #nutrition #community #sustainabiltiy

We would like to share a huge thank you to the team at the Central District Alliance (CDA) for their incredibly generous £1000 donation during our recent Small Charity Week match giving campaign. As you may already know, we exceeded our £10k target and including Gift Aid, we’ve raised an astonishing £13,164! On top of CDA's team frequent volunteering, where volunteers have personally cooked 160 meals across FEAST kitchens, this donation will go a long way to sustain FEAST's nutritious meal services to support vulnerable people experiencing food insecurity. Thank you to everyone at the CDA, and all other supporters, who have helped us exceed our Small Charity Week campaign target to support more people experiencing food insecurity in London.

A second fantastic Healthy Eating on a Budget group graduated this week - this time at the The Salvation Army with participants from Hackney Foodbank! All participants successfully completed their Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene certificates and celebrated by cooking a delicious shared meal together 🙌 This was a really special group — full of energy, care for each other, and spirit - and we hope to welcome many of them back in September to help deliver the next programme as volunteers 💚 #healthyeating #nutrition #community #sustainability #FEAST #Hackney

Yesterday at our Healthy Eating on a Budget session at Fitzrovia Community Centre, we were delighted to be joined by the brilliant chef Jo Pratt! Jo led a fantastic cooking session featuring a delicious four-course menu: 🥣 Watermelon Gazpacho 🥒 Courgette and Feta Quiche 🌮 Mexican Chicken with Cauliflower Rice 🍓 Red Fruit Crumble with Greek Yoghurt and Cinnamon The group loved getting stuck in and learning new skills, and Jo’s warm, down-to-earth style made the session really special. 10 years ago, we ran our very first 'FEAST' at Conway House, a Sapphire Independent Housing men's temporary homeless accomodation hostel in Kilburn, North London. A decade later, we're still here - this month, we will kick off our eighth (!!) group of our Healthy Eating on a Budget programme with residents. Conway holds a special place in FEAST’s story. It’s where our journey began, and it’s where we’ve seen the positive impact of nutritious food and community time and time again. We have been busy with two groups of our Healthy Eating on a Budget programmes over the last few weeks! At Fitzrovia Community Centre, participants have now completed both Level 1, showing amazing growth in confidence - both in the kitchen and in their nutrition knowledge🥦 Yesterday’s session at the The Salvation Army Army with users of Hackney Foodbank, was bursting with flavour as we celebrated Latin American cuisine! Participants brought in their own dishes, including Argentinian empanadas and Colombian arepas and patties - creating not just a delicious meal, but a moment of cultural exchange and community💚🌍 #FEAST #HealthyEating

An extra special community meal!🎉 We came together with The Finchley Charities to celebrate Refugee Week with a delicious, nourishing feast. Alongside the community meal, The Finchley Charities held a fantastic fundraiser in support of the Refugee Council, selling jam and baked goods homemade by residents – a beautiful way to raise funds and awareness. The Finchley Charities, their residents and FEAST have also contributed a joint donation to the Refugee Council. Our amazing volunteers cooked up a Moroccan-inspired feast, featuring spiced chicken, falafel, and couscous, followed by an orange and cardamon cake, which went down a storm! This event also marked the final community meal with The Finchley Charities before a short break, as we look to fund an extended service next year. What a way to wrap up 9 incredible months of partnership with the team!
