The release of ‘Fit for the Future: 10 Year Health Plan for England’ demonstrates a strong commitment to improving cardiovascular care and reducing related deaths by 25%. At BMS, we share this vision, along with British Heart Foundation, recognising that early prevention and intervention are critical to improving health outcomes. I believe that innovative medicines, combined with employment support, can play a vital role in helping individuals manage their condition and avoid economic inactivity. By delivering high-quality care earlier in the patient journey, we can support people to lead longer, healthier lives while remaining active in their work, family life, and communities. I look forward to continuing our work with government, BHF and other advocacy partners to help make this vision a reality. #BMSUK #CardiovascularDisease

You can't upgrade the nation's health without tackling cardiovascular disease (CVD), one of the UK's biggest killers. Today, the Government announced a 10 Year Health Plan in England which sets the direction for the NHS for the next decade. It's great to see the Government recommit to reducing early deaths from CVD by 25% over the next decade. This ambitious goal is possible. We're excited to work with the Government to make it happen.

  • Excitement is in the air this weekend as our very own Donal Keogan PhD competes in the semi-final of the GAA Football Championship on Sunday 12 July! ⚽ With more than 180 appearances, Donal will take to the field in a highly competitive and historic match against Donegal. He plays a pivotal role in the team, as the only outfield player to have played every minute of the 2025 season! We’re incredibly proud of Donal’s achievements and dedication he brings to Ireland's national game. This is alongside his dedication to patients as a senior scientist in our Manufacturing and Science Team in External Manufacturing (ExM), where he performs a crucial role in our biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes. Good luck Donal - your #BMSIreland colleagues are rooting for you every step of the way! 🎊🏆

What’s your ambition? The Bristol Myers Squibb UK & Ireland team recently came together to explore that very question. At #BMSUK and #BMSIreland our mission is clear – to discover, develop and deliver innovative medicines that help patients prevail over serious diseases. But what truly brings that mission to life is our people, their passion, ideas, and unwavering commitment to making a difference. As #BMSEmployees, we took time to reflect on how each of us can meaningfully contribute to this mission and shape our future. This wasn’t just a meeting. It was a chance to listen, collaborate, and reimagine what we can achieve together. We were privileged to hear from patients who have benefitted from BMS’s treatments — from incredible journeys of resilience that brought the room to silence, to one that ended with a return to playing the bagpipes (an unforgettable moment!). Each story reminded us exactly why we do what we do. Thank you to all the incredible teams for contributing your time, big ideas, and passion. Your engagement is what drives our culture forward and ensures that patients remain at the centre of everything we do.

  • Most signs of cardiomyopathy are non-specific, making it difficult to recognise. Stuart, like many others, faced excessive fatigue and a range of unexplained symptoms before being diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM).   This #CardiomyopathyAwarenessMonth, we’re helping raise awareness so more people feel confident recognising early signs and reaching out for support.   If you are experiencing any new or unexplained symptoms such as shortness of breath, rapid heartbeat, chest pain, dizziness, unexplained fatigue or fainting, speak to your GP.   If you would like to learn more about HCM symptoms, visit: https://lnkd.in/e7Yk9zxQ   #BMSUK #Cardiomyopathies #HCM #CardiovascularDisease

  • Air pollution is linked to more than 29,000 deaths each year in the UK. We recognise the devastating impact this has on public health and the environment. We are committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050. Our commitment to environmental sustainability is foundational to our culture and vision to transform patients’ lives through science. We respect the environment, operating transparently, ethically, and sustainably. Learn more about our environmental commitments here: https://lnkd.in/evFzbg_E #BMSUK #BMSIreland

  • The tradition continues… and the training begins... 🚴♀️🚴🚴♀️🚴 We’re proud to announce that the 2025 Country 2 Country 4 Cancer Europe ride teams have been selected! This September, our incredible riders from #BMSUK and #BMSIreland will set off from Paris, taking on the final leg of the European #C2C4C ride. Once again, we will be riding to raise funds for two amazing causes: Maggie's Centres and Aoibheanns Pink Tie. 💜 Last year, our European teams raised more than £420,000 to help advance groundbreaking #CancerResearch. Let’s go even further in 2025! Support this year’s riders and help us make a difference: https://lnkd.in/dEZg7CGT #WeAreRidingForPatients

  • This week we had the opportunity to attend the British Cardiovascular Society (BCS) conference in Manchester, a key event in the cardiology calendar that brought together leading cardiology experts across the UK and beyond. The conference provided an important moment to connect in person and to discuss key topics in cardiac care for both patients and healthcare professionals. With inherited cardiac conditions as one of our key priorities, we left the conference energised by the conversations and shared passion for progress. The insights gained reaffirmed our commitment to multi-stakeholder collaboration and our acute focus to advance the science in cardiovascular care. Attending the conference, Guy Oliver, General Manager UK & Ireland, commented “At BMS, we’re not just discovering & delivering innovative medicines—we’re ensuring health system readiness to support clinicians and patients with inherited cardiac conditions”. #BMSUK #BCS #Cardiology
