Notwithstanding the ongoing attractive cost profile of renewables, Lazard’s 2025 Levelized Cost of Energy+ (LCOE+) report reinforces the need for a diversity of energy sources to meet rising demand. In the last year, a constrained electricity supply outlook in the face of increasing power demand has resulted in increased marginal cost competitiveness of existing baseload technologies such as nuclear and combined cycle gas turbines.
