Last Monday, we kick-started the #FuturizeU2024 cohort, marking a full-circle moment for me. This time last year, I was on the other side as a participant with my startup, Mari Test, in the inaugural FuturizeU incubator. Today, I'm part of the incredible team Futurize as the Incubation Program Manager, bringing the knowledge and insights I’ve gained to help guide the next generation of innovators. FuturizeU, launched by Futurize in partnership with AstraZeneca through the A.Catalyst Network, is focused on nurturing & launching African startups in healthcare and climate action founded by young people. This year’s cohort is truly remarkable, representing the diversity and potential of our continent with startups from Egypt (North Africa), South Africa, Kenya (East Africa), Rwanda (Central East Africa), and Nigeria (West Africa). 🚀 Meet the Startups: ACUBED: Aggregating diagnostic tests via mobile app/call center. Alpha Eye: AI-driven diagnostics for early vision impairment detection. Cardiac TEK: AI for real-time ECG interpretation and cardiovascular disease management. MedLab Diagnostics: AI-based cervical cancer diagnostic tool. PILL PALL: using AI to provide emergency health solution. Sadia Health: AI model for early liver cancer diagnosis. Tulivu.AI: AI device for early pregnancy complication detection. uMama: AI-powered, culturally relevant nutrition for mothers. WAD Pharma: Optimizing Africa’s pharmaceutical supply chain. Zoner Health: AI-powered diagnosis and medical records. Check Me Ltd: AI-driven breast cancer care. Allof Health: Secure health data documentation and sharing. Medicompanion: Smart pill dispenser with caregiver app. Conformity AI: AI-based automated radiotherapy planning. These startups are poised to make a significant impact on healthcare across Africa, and I can’t wait to see their growth over the next 12 weeks. Stay tuned to our social media channels, Futurize, for more updates on their journey. #FuturizeU2024 #AfricanInnovation #HealthcareStartup

🌱 > 🚀 One of the most rewarding experiences I've had again and again is mentoring startups and helping entrepreneurs refine their pitch strategies. It's incredibly fulfilling to support passionate founders in shaping their vision and conveying it with confidence and clarity. I believe that every great startup begins with a compelling story, and I’m excited to be part of their journey—whether it's perfecting the narrative, fine-tuning the delivery, or preparing for the critical moment when they face investors. It’s a privilege to give back to the startup community and contribute to the growth of the next wave of game-changers! Let’s keep the momentum going. 💡 These were some of the startups I coached in the Online Academy today for the upcoming Tech Tour #AI for #Health 2025: #Nooku helps to combat asthma and allergies, prevent pollution build up, and improve concentration and sleep quality by measuring indoor air quality. https://nooku.co/ #StratifAI created a comprehensive breast cancer prognostication AI test, capable of reducing unnecessary overtreatment of breast cancer patients, delivering rapid results compared to traditional genomic assays. https://stratifai.com/ #Vitrofluidix is developing an easy-to-use, fully integrated and adaptive organ-on-a-chip platform to accurately simulate human organs and reduce animal testing. https://lnkd.in/dvbkpvRi Danny Kane Carlotta Altringer Michelelia Amodio #StartupMentoring #Pitching #Entrepreneurship #GivingBack #Investors #Europe #TechTour
