Volvo Group’s path to fossil-free operations by 2040 includes not one but three propulsion technologies. One key pillar is hydrogen – with two parallel tracks: fuel cell electric vehicles for long-haul transport, and modified combustion engines powered by hydrogen for specific high-load applications. Together with battery-electric vehicles and renewable fuel internal combustion engines, hydrogen is a vital part of our three-pronged strategy to meet diverse customer needs across transport and construction.

At the heart of Volvo Construction Equipment India is our Bangalore factory in Peenya, established in 1978. It remains a powerhouse of engineering and innovation. Spanning 57,000 square meters, this site produces around 2,000 machines every year, including excavators, compactors, pneumatic tyre rollers, and wheel loaders. These machines help move progress across India and beyond. But it’s more than a manufacturing site. It also serves as our India headquarters, home to a team of over 650 people across operations, technology, sales, and marketing, all working under one roof to drive our vision forward. From here, we’re not just building machines. We’re building tomorrow. #WeAreVolvoGroup
