We were honoured to welcome CEPI – the CEPI (Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations) – to Valneva’s headquarters in Vienna for a dedicated mini symposium focused on global health innovation and pandemic preparedness. 🌍 This visit brought together thought leaders, scientists, and public health experts for a day of insightful exchange and collaboration. We were especially pleased to host CEPI’s CEO, Richard Hatchett, who delivered a powerful keynote on strengthening worldwide preparedness through equitable vaccine development, saying: “The COVID-19 pandemic reminded us that pathogens move faster than politics or procurement. To prevent future pandemics, we must move even faster. Austria’s biomedical innovations ecosystem is making notable contributions to global preparedness and Valneva is a key example. Together, with our partners, we can work to efficiently move from scientific discovery to delivery and protect humanity from these pernicious viral threats.” 🧬 The symposium featured a keynote by Dr. Richard Hatchett on global preparedness, a panel discussion on vaccine development for global health, and networking sessions aimed at fostering future partnerships. This event reflects our shared commitment to advancing vaccine science and building resilient systems for future health challenges. Thank you to CEPI and all participants for an inspiring and forward-thinking event. Together, we’re shaping the future of global health. 💡 #AdvancingVaccinesForBetterLives

The rapid spread of tiger mosquitos, due to climate change, poses a notable public health threat in Europe. A recent study published in The Lancet Planetary Health highlights that due to the mosquitos’ ability to transmit diseases, such as dengue and chikungunya - which were once limited to the tropics - half of the world is now at risk of contracting these illnesses. The immense public health threat of infectious diseases is undeniable and exacerbated by climate change, emphasizing the serious need for proactive disease intervention. At Valneva we are working tirelessly to develop potential solutions to help protect against these kinds of threats.
