🌏 Dr Kedar Mehta's experience with The Union's SORT IT (Structured Operational Research and Training Initiative) course has transformed his approach to health research. Through hands-on mentorship and real-world application, he has sharpened his technical skills and helped design interventions that are saving lives across Gujarat and shaping national HIV policy in India. Through the SORT IT course, Dr Mehta has learned that research is not just an academic exercise but a critical tool for improving health outcomes and influencing policy. From reducing pre-treatment loss to follow-up among people living with HIV to stepping into policy advocacy at GMERS Medical College, Vadodara, Dr Mehta is proof that evidence-based research can drive lasting change. A powerful Call to Action urging Gavi to prioritise RSV prevention in low- and middle-income countries, co-authored by global health leaders and endorsed by 44 organisations, including the Forum of International Respiratory Societies (FIRS), of which The Union is a proud member. RSV causes more than 100,000 deaths annually in children under five, 97% in LMICs, disproportionately affecting infants under six months of age. Proven tools now exist but access remains unequal. 📢 With the Gavi Board meeting this month, The Union joins the global health community in calling for equitable support to scale up RSV immunisation where the need is greatest. 🗣️ Read and share the Call to Action: https://ow.ly/pSH350WkY07
