In the first half of 2025, Qualitas Energy Deutschland GmbH has achieved key milestones in wind energy development. In just six months, we have secured permits for 43 wind turbines with a total capacity of 275 MW and submitted applications for 156 additional turbines exceeding 1 GW. 📰 Severin Hiller, our Partner & Co-Head of Credit, has been featured in the Private Debt Investor ‘s 2025 Infrastructure Debt and the Energy Transition report.   In an article entitled 'Powering past the headwinds', Severin highlights that “energy transition assets demonstrate strong long-term fundamentals, underpinned by mature technologies and diversified revenue structures.” “Resilience is expected to strengthen over time, supported by continued investment in grid reinforcement and digitalisation, as well as in battery storage and grid-forming technologies. We remain confident in the long term,” he adds.   He further emphasises that “the energy transition should not be seen as a fixed or one-off trend,”, stating that “it is a constantly evolving space, shaped by changing technologies, regulations and market conditions. Energy Management is now Energy Markets. The name of one of our core departments has evolved to reflect its transformation into Qualitas Energy’s internal market strategy and execution team.   Since 2019, under Julián Simón’s leadership, the team has grown beyond PPA origination to drive a broader strategy focused on maximising asset value and managing market risks.   Now structured around three key pillars: Strategy, Origination, and Revenue Optimisation, Energy Markets’ current work covers market regulation and power price forecasting, power market consulting, and hedging services. We deliver independent market outlooks, identify regulatory trends and revenue strategies, and execute risk-managed trades in public and private markets. We are pleased to share our 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰. This report captures how our decision-making and day-to-day actions have continued to be shaped by three core pillars: empowering the energy transition, building stronger communities, and leading with integrity. These principles remain deeply embedded across our investment strategies, operations, and culture—helping us address today’s challenges while building long-term value.   As a result, we are proud to present the following outcomes:   ▪️A renewable energy portfolio of 10.6 GW, generating 1,703.2 GWh of clean electricity in 2024. ▪️Over 950,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions avoided – equivalent to removing more than 223,000 petrol vehicles from the road. ▪️Supported two verified carbon offset projects focused on renewable hydroelectric power generation in Latin America. ▪️More than 1.1 million homes supplied with clean energy – equivalent to 125% of Hamburg’s annual electricity needs, or 118% of Milan’s, or 89% of Madrid’s. ▪️Strong performance in the United Nations PRI Assessment, with scores well above the median across all assessed modules. ▪️Signatory of the United Nations Global Compact, aligning with the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. ▪️ Joined SpainCap and Spainsif - Foro Español de Inversión y Finanzas Sostenibles, reinforcing our engagement in responsible investment. ▪️Launched the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Forum, designed as both a strategic think tank and an action-oriented platform to embed inclusive leadership across the organisation. ▪️Updated Supplier Code of Conduct, setting clear and rigorous ESG expectations for all suppliers, contractors, and partners. ▪️Threefold increase in the Sustainability team, strengthening our in-house ESG capabilities.   Since our founding in 2006, sustainability has been at the heart of Qualitas Energy’s mission.
