Egypt Healthcare Authority , led by its Chairman Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, held a strategic meeting with representatives from bioMérieux Egypt and HYPHENS Solutions to explore avenues of collaboration in the fields of reference laboratory development, rapid diagnostics, and digital transformation within the Universal Health Insurance governorates. The meeting discussed the establishment of centralized, advanced reference laboratories in the Canal and Upper Egypt regions, including Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, South Sinai, Luxor, and Aswan. These laboratories will serve as regional diagnostic hubs, supporting all EHA-affiliated healthcare facilities and providing accurate, high-speed results through cutting-edge diagnostic technologies aligned with international standards. Dr. El-Sobky emphasized that strengthening laboratory services is a strategic priority for the Authority, highlighting their critical role in delivering timely, evidence-based care and promoting health equity across Egypt. He further stressed the need to incorporate artificial intelligence and real-time data analytics within the lab network to enhance clinical accuracy and operational efficiency, through full integration with EHA’s centralized health information system.
