  • At Panasonic, we’re transforming how materials are used across our global operations 🌍, including right here in Europe. The goal? A circular economy that reduces reliance on virgin plastic, maximises reuse, and delivers sustainable solutions that reshape how we build and package products. Here are some examples: ♻️ We reused 29.6k tons of recycled resins between FY23 and FY24 and have set an ambitious target to achieve 90k tons of recycled resin for FY23-25, reducing the need for virgin plastics in our products. 📦 Plastic‑free packaging - two examples:   B2B: We changed the packaging of our Panasonic TOUGHBOOKs using zero plastic, replacing it with sustainable alternatives wherever possible B2C: We have started to package our microwave ovens without plastic and Styrofoam. Watch out for more examples of our journey towards circular economy business initiatives. Plastic Free July is not about perfection — it’s about momentum. And we’re proud to be making real, measurable progress.   #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #ZeroPlastic #RecycledMaterials #PlasticFreeJuly #GreenInitiatives

  • 🕰️ Built to last – and then some! Did you catch our post on Friday, 27th June about a Panasonic fan that’s still going strong after 50 years? Well, here are a couple more for the record books: 📞 We once had a gentleman in the UK phone us to ask about a replacement microwave lightbulb. After a bit of back and forth, it turned out the microwave in question was more than 40 years old! We couldn’t find a bulb—but we could find a way to say thank you. He received a brand-new Panasonic microwave as a token of appreciation for his loyalty. 🙌 ⏰And then there’s the classic Panasonic radio alarm clock—still faithfully waking someone up since the 1960s. No smart tech, no app, just good old-fashioned engineering that refuses to quit. At Panasonic, we take pride in creating high-quality products that stand the test of time. Stories like these remind us what long-term value really means. 💬 Have you had a Panasonic product that just keeps going? We’d love to hear about it—whether it’s a decades-old TV, radio, rice cooker, or something else entirely. Drop your story in the comments 👇

  • 🌍 This week, during Net Zero Week UK, we’ve been reflecting on the ideas and innovations helping to shape a more sustainable future. 🌱 A wide range of free webinars were planned across the week—sparking conversation on how we tackle the climate challenge together. Two key themes particularly stood out to us, aligning closely with our priorities and progress toward a cleaner, more resilient world: 🔹 Why Sustainability Still Drives Value In today’s evolving policy landscape, one message continues to resonate: sustainability isn’t a distraction from business success — it’s essential to it. At Panasonic, we see sustainability not just as a responsibility, but as a strategic driver of long-term value, innovation, and resilience. That’s why we launched Panasonic GREEN IMPACT, our global commitment to reducing CO₂ emissions across our operations and in wider society. 🔹 The Battery-Electrolyser: Where Power Storage Meets Clean Hydrogen This innovative system from Loughborough University and based on battery chemistry, produces pure hydrogen gas through controlled overcharging—offering a promising pathway to cleaner fuel production. Research like this echoes our own hydrogen ambitions. From powering an entire customer experience centre in Germany with our Panasonic HX hydrogen fuel‑cell/solar/energy management solution, to advancing hydrogen infrastructure for Osaka Expo 2025, to pioneering a hydrogen supply chain at Osaka Expo, we’re committed to bringing more and more hydrogen solutions to life. It underscores hydrogen’s pivotal role in reducing emissions and enhancing energy autonomy. As we move beyond this week, we remain steadfast: embedding sustainability and hydrogen innovation into the core of what we build—because protecting the planet is also about powering the future.

  • Are you having trouble sleeping? It might be more than just the dry weather when tiny particles start flying around, especially at this time of year.   Dust mite allergens can be a hidden disruption in bedrooms, clinics, hotels, and care facilities, especially during hot summer months. These allergens get stirred into the air every time someone moves in bed, often triggering allergic reactions that interrupt sleep and overall well-being. They are located 1 cm beneath the surface of the bedding. It is said that there are more than 140,000 dust mites per 2 m2 (equivalent to one standard person's mattress).   How can these hidden "roommates" be kicked-out?   Our recent research reveals that nanoe™X-technology — our patented solution that uses hydroxyl radicals contained in water — can inhibit over 99% of dust mite allergens that are deeply embedded in bedding fibers. The nanoe™X-technology built-into our airconditioners doesn't even require any manual cleaning of filters or other maintenance. In collaboration with experts from the Sleep Assessment & Research Institute of Japan and Azabu University, 50km Southwest of Tokyo, we have demonstrated that our technology not only inhibits allergens but also suppresses the immune responses that cause inflammation and itching. This paves the way for a healthier, more relaxed environment.   Explore the full research and discover how nanoe™X can inactivate allergens: https://lnkd.in/d-ik4raB

Every year, millions or people around the world join ‘Plastic Free July’ 🌍, a global movement launched in Western Australia in 2011. It’s a month-long challenge to not use single-use plastics—like straws, bags, bottles, and packaging—to raise awareness and spark lasting change in our habits and systems. At Panasonic Europe, this message resonates deeply. As a manufacturer, innovator, and corporate citizen, we know that sustainability starts with responsibility. ✅ This July, and every month, we are taking action to reduce plastic waste ✅ 💡 Cutting plastic from packaging in selected products and replacing it with recyclable, paper-based alternatives. 💡 Redesigning products for repair, reuse, and recycling. 💡 Increasing the use of recycled materials in our product designs. 💡 Working with our supply chain to reduce single-use plastics across operations. 💡 We have also designed Kinari; a high-density material composed of biodegradable cellulose fibre, which can be formulated to be simultaneously lighter and stronger than plastic. Plastic Free July isn’t just a challenge—it’s a movement. One that empowers individuals and organisations alike to reduce their environmental footprint and spark meaningful change. We’re proud to support this effort, but we also know the journey isn’t over. Let’s keep sharing ideas, changing habits, and moving forward—together. What swap are you making this month? 👇

What happened to the heat pump market in 2024 – and what's next for Europe? Yesterday's exclusive webinar, hosted by the European Heat Pump Association (EHPA), gave Panasonic and other key stakeholders an early look at the upcoming 2025 market report. With expert insights from Gerard Reid, EHPA Director General Paul Kenny, and Mélanie Auvray, the session addressed what the findings mean for the EU's ambitions. The 2025 EHPA Market Report shows remarkable progress and addresses the gaps to be bridged:  💡 The industry has seen a decade of market growth and over 25.5 million heat pumps installed in Europe. 🌱 These sales mean that heat pumps are doing the same as removing 50 million cars from the roads, a fifth of the 250 million registered passenger cars in the EU.  💡 France remains the largest market, while Norway has the highest sales per 1000 households. 📈 The UK saw a 56% increase in sales in 2024.  💡 Manufacturing is thriving with 300+ plants across Europe 🌍 433,000 jobs supported, and up to 73% of units sold are made locally.  💡 Wider heat pump adoption and better home efficiency could reduce fossil fuel import spending by 💸 EUR 60 billion by 2030. To stay on track for climate and energy security goals, the EHPA outlined some key actions:  ✅A clear and stable regulatory framework – Long-term policy certainty is vital for manufacturers and consumers alike.  ✅Support for upfront investment – Accessible, well-designed subsidies help overcome initial cost barriers for households and businesses. ✅ Fair energy pricing – Electricity and gas prices must reflect environmental impact. Today, electricity is often taxed more heavily than fossil fuels.  ✅ Skilled workforce development – Training and upskilling installers is essential to meet growing demand.  ✅ "REPowerEU - 3 years on": To achieve the number of 60 million heat pumps by 2030 for the climate target, the EU needs to more than double the annual rate of deployment, rolling out close to 6 million new heat pumps (hydronic and air-to-air) each year from this year onwards. At Panasonic, we remain committed to supporting Europe's energy transition through a large-scale build-up of training centres across Europe. 🌱 And with our scalable and efficient heat pump technology, from single-family houses (K&L-series) to larger multi-family homes and commercial applications (M-series). Having one of the most extensive line-ups with R290 as a natural refrigerant, we aim to drive sustainable heating & cooling for buildings forward. 🤔 Your thoughts matter: Do you want to see more focus on finance & energy prices, installer & consumer education, or is product innovation key to succeed in the energy transition? Let's keep the conversation going! 👇 📊👇 For a deeper dive, check out the full report: https://lnkd.in/e_TYtQKd Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions Europe #HeatPumps #EnergyTransition #ClimateGoals #EnergyEfficiency

🌡️ Is an air conditioner a lifesaver these days? We believe the definitive answer is: YES!   As Europe experiences record-breaking heat, with temperatures surpassing 40 °C in France, Spain, and Italy, it serves as a stark reminder of how essential home cooling has become. Without it, our brains would struggle to function in these extreme conditions.   This is why we are proud on our more than 65 (!!!) years of legacy in cooling technology: From the very first window cooler to cutting-edge, energy efficient, remote manageable air conditioning systems for all sizes of room and spaces.   💡 Did you know…? 💡 Back in 1958, Panasonic (then known by the brand name National) launched its very first window-type room air conditioner; a product that would go on to change the way people lived. And this wasn't just any appliance. It was one of the first compact, affordable air conditioners designed specifically for everyday households marking a pivotal moment in home comfort technology.   🔹 Lightweight and easy to install 🔹 Adaptable to both Japanese and Western-style rooms 🔹 Priced to make comfort affordable for the average family.   With approximately 1,100 units sold in its first year, this marked the true beginning of accessible home cooling. ❄️   Fast forward to today, and Panasonic continues to lead in air cooling innovation. Our energy-saving designs are equipped with advanced sensors and our unique air purification technology, nanoe™ X. This technology effectively removes pollen, dust, and unpleasant odors from rooms without the need for filter replacements, neutralising bacteria, pollen, and other undesirable elements present in the air.   🍃 As extreme heatwaves become more frequent due to climate change, the demand for reliable and energy-efficient cooling has never been higher. Panasonic’s six-decade legacy of innovation positions us perfectly to meet this challenge.

Summer has arrived, bringing with it the dual nature of the season! ☀️ As temperatures soar, we may perhaps struggle with the heat, but let’s also look at the bright side: longer evenings, refreshing swims, and the perfect opportunity to indulge in plenty of ice cream. 🍦 This season serves as a beautiful reminder of the importance of perspective—something our founder, Konosuke Matsushita, understood profoundly. He once said, “Everything has a front and a back. While considering the reverse, recognise the beauty of the front and help to nurture it.” These words remind us that every experience, no matter how challenging, has a flip side which can be appreciated — be it in private life or at work. The positives of summer can be found in golden evening light, spontaneous outdoor meetings in the evening, or simply the joy of a refreshing breeze (perhaps courtesy of a Panasonic fan or air conditioning system😉). As we embrace the warmth and brightness of this season, let’s nurture the positives within ourselves, our work, and those around us. And don’t forget to keep hydrated! 💧

What powers a sustainable future? Sometimes… it’s copper. Lots of it. And from surprising places 💡🔌 At our Panasonic pavilion, "Land of NOMO,” now on display at Expo 2025 Osaka in Kansai, Japan, we have used 1.2 tons of recycled copper, recovered from home appliance circuit boards, to create 891 meters of main trunk cabling that runs throughout the pavilion. It’s a small detail with a big story: rethinking how we use materials, reduce waste, and design for circularity from the ground up ♻️ This is Panasonic GREEN IMPACT in action - showing how yesterday’s tech can power tomorrow’s experiences. And we’re not stopping there. Our commitment is to reduce environmental impact through bold ideas, clever recycling, and thoughtful design. So just like the recycled iron in the structure and the glass in the paving stones, these same materials will one day head right back into the recycling loop to start again 🌱🔄   #PanasonicGREENIMPACT #SustainabilityInAction #Expo2025 #CircularDesign #PanasonicInNumbers

Our Environmental Month Relay continues! 🌱   This time, our colleagues in the UK and Amsterdam rolled up their sleeves for local clean-up efforts around their offices, proving that small actions can have a big impact. 💪♻️   Miles Thomas from our UK People Relations team (HR) took some of our placement-year students from the Bracknell office on a rewarding volunteering day.   In partnership with the Estates team, they helped to plant wildlife-friendly flower beds in the memorial garden, which were designed to be visually stunning yet ecologically sustainable. Using native flower species enabled the team to create a vital habitat for local bees and insects, supporting biodiversity right at the heart of the community. 🐝🌸   Meanwhile, in Amsterdam, our local team collected an impressive amount of waste in a short time, showing just how powerful teamwork can be for the planet — and how much fun it can be!🧤   A huge thank you to everyone involved for giving back to nature and leading the way!
