Did you know it takes several plants to build the all-new electric CLA? Electric drive units and axles are manufactured in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim, while bodyshell components, structural parts, and body panels come from Kuppenheim. The batteries are produced in Kamenz. All these elements come together at our Rastatt plant, where the all-new electric CLA rolls off the assembly line. Driven by our “Digital First” approach, the production in Rastatt integrates the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS) into the MO360 digital ecosystem. Targeted AI applications optimise specific processes, like in the paint shop, boosting efficiency and sustainability. Together, this network demonstrates how we work hand in hand to shape the future of automotive manufacturing. #MercedesBenz

From Stuttgart to Rome with just two 15-minute stops – our VLE proves how efficient electric vans can be. The route from Stuttgart to Rome covered almost 1,100 kilometres and took around 13 hours, featuring some of the most challenging roads in Europe – everything from steep, winding mountain passes across the Alps, to long highway sections, busy country roads and narrow city streets – with just two short charging stops of 15 minutes each. The focus of the drive was to test the everyday suitability and efficiency of the new Van Electric Architecture as well as recuperation, thermal management and effects of the rear-axle steering on vehicle handling. At the start in Stuttgart, the outside temperature was 11 degrees Celsius, while in Rome it was 33 degrees. As a result, comfort was not dispensed with and the interior was air-conditioned to 22 degrees during the entire journey. Test drives such as this long-distance trip from Stuttgart to Rome are part of a comprehensive test programme for analysing the performance of the overall vehicle, which includes numerous climatic zones and route profiles. #MercedesBenz

Get inspired by Serkan’s personal success story. Launched in 2021, D.SHIFT [mb.mb4.me/D-Shift] is designed for production employees to qualify for digital job profiles in areas such as data analysis, AI or software programming for electromobility. Serkan was one of them. “I completed my vocational training as a production mechanic at Mercedes-Benz almost 20 years ago. Most recently, I worked as an operational engineer in the production of cylinder heads. In 2023, I transitioned to a Data Specialist through our internal re-skilling programme, D.SHIFT. I took the around-one-year programme alongside my work, turning my passion for data into a profession.”

Step into the world of automotive history. The Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrows put on an exceptional display in the south of England at two events renowned for their distinctive character: the Royal Automobile Club Concours (9 July) and the Goodwood Festival of Speed (10-13 July). Featuring racing cars from various eras, our vehicles enthralled spectators with their stunning appearance. Mercedes-Benz Classic presented what is arguably the most valuable racing car duo in the world at the inaugural Club Concours curated display at the Royal Automobile Club: the legendary W 196 R Formula 1 racing car and the iconic 300 SLR racing sports car (W 196 S) - both cars from 1955. Interestingly, the two most valuable cars ever auctioned off came from the W 196 family. Can you guess the combined worth of both classic cars?
