One thing is clear: Circularity can only be achieved through collaboration. Together with our customer @Orbhes Espumas e Colchões Ltda, we're proud to announce the launch of the first mattress using our renewable-certified PU foam attributed via mass balance. By incorporating our Desmodur® CQ T80 MB, an ISCC* PLUS-certified toluene diisocyanate (TDI) extracted from palm oil, into the foam production of its high-end Stallion and Restonic portfolio, Orbhes is offering a more sustainable alternative to conventional mattresses, setting a new benchmark for the industry in Brazil. This collaboration underscores our commitment to the transition to a circular economy and how partnerships can turn our vision of driving sustainable change into reality. 👉 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/euxDugGj *International Sustainability and Carbon Certification

🔁 Sustainable mobility needs circular materials in action. That’s what makes the Sonnenwagen project so unique: It brings real innovation to the road – including the first-ever use of chemically recycled Vulkollan® in a solar car! 💡 At the official rollout of the new Sonnenwagen Æthon, Thomas Braig, Head of Business Entity Elastomers, highlighted why projects like this are more than just prototypes: They inspire and they help us learn; that’s what drives real change. 🔗 Read more about our partnership with Team Sonnenwagen Aachen and discover the Covestro materials inside Æthon: https://lnkd.in/edciet3b

The EU Commission presents an “Action Plan” for the chemical industry and puts #resilience front and center. Why I see this as one of Ursula von der Leyen‘s most decisive moves yet and why we mustn’t stop there. 👇 The so called "Critical Chemical Alliance" aims to address what keeps us awake at night. In a world where geopolitical tensions, protectionism and supply chain disruptions have become our reality, this new body can protect Europe's critical chemical production sites - and maintain Europe's strategic autonomy. The comprehensive thought behind the alliance seems promising. It focuses on protecting capacity and modernizing investments while coordinating across EU member states and tackling trade challenges. If implemented, it can move Europe from analysis to action - finally. And there's more: The "Action Plan" fosters affordable energy, drives innovation with new fiscal incentives, simplifies and reduces regulation, and takes a reasonable, science-based approach to PFAS. I particularly appreciate that Ursula von der Leyen is pushing this package forward at unprecedented speed. Because: timing is everything. With mounting global pressures, we must implement these measures swiftly and pragmatically. The chemical industry stands ready to turn her vision into reality.

What if climate action started with the materials we sleep on? 🌱 When thinking about a more sustainable lifestyle, we often picture electric vehicles or renewable energy. Yet meaningful impact can (surprisingly) also come from the everyday products that surround us – including the mattresses we spend a third of our lives on. That's why we're rethinking comfort with purpose. In this video, our very own Dennis Wagner shares how we're enabling more sustainable solutions for polyurethane (PU) foam applications – ultimately benefiting consumers by creating mattresses that offer both comfort and reduced environmental impact, thanks to our CQ materials. 💡 With our CQ portfolio, that contains at least 25% attributed alternative raw materials, we're helping partners across the PU value chain turn sustainability ambitions into measurable progress. 👇 Watch the video to learn more about how we're working towards a more circular value chain! 👉 Dive deeper into how we're enabling change through smarter materials: https://lnkd.in/dcG9GEyQ #BetterMattress #MaterialSolutions #SustainableFutureMakers
