Maysfield and Dunoon Sites Earn Silver and Bronze in Concentrix Sustainable Building Awards

United Kingdom – Two Concentrix buildings – Maysfield in Belfast and Dunoon in Scotland – have been recognised with silver and bronze awards under the Concentrix Sustainable Building Standard. These accolades highlight our commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) excellence and mark significant progress toward our 2030 sustainability goals.

A Framework for Sustainable Excellence

The Concentrix Sustainable Building Standard is an internally developed framework that evaluates sites based on ESG factors in building design, operation, and maintenance. This standard incorporates social and governance aspects, aligning with global guidelines to promote well-being, identify improvement areas, and foster sustainable practices across our global locations.

Luke Torr, Head of Property, Environment and Health & Safety – a key leader in our sustainability efforts – shared his pride in the teams: “I’m really proud of the teams at Dunoon and Maysfield for their hard work and commitment to sustainability. These awards show how small changes in how we work and care for our buildings can make a big difference. This is a great step toward our 2030 goal – well done to everyone involved.”

Maysfield: Silver Award for Leadership in Sustainability

Maysfield achieved silver, setting a high standard for sustainability within Concentrix. Their accomplishments include:

  • Carbon reduction: An on-site solar panel installation that contributes to cleaner energy use.
  • Waste management: Effective systems that ensure responsible waste disposal.
  • Sustainable commuting: Excellent public transport links and support for alternative commuting options.

As Maysfield looks ahead, its progress serves as an inspiration for other sites aiming for higher sustainability standards.

Michael O’Neill, Facility Management – who helps manage sustainable change at Maysfield – commented: “There was a great deal of research and work behind our solar panel installation at Maysfield, and now we are pleased to say we are reaping the benefits. Since installing 304 panels in 2023, we’ve saved 37,268.4kg CO2 emissions – the equivalent of planting 2,255 trees and made a cost saving of just over £24,000.”

Dunoon: Bronze Award for Sustainable Progress

The Dunoon office has earned the bronze award for its outstanding efforts in creating a more sustainable workplace. Key highlights from their assessment include:

  • Energy efficiency: Significant reductions in energy consumption, making daily operations more efficient.
  • Healthier spaces: Improvements to interior environments that enhance employee well-being.
  • Biodiversity efforts: The creation of a bee garden is a small but impactful step toward supporting local biodiversity.

James Middleton, Senior Facilities at Concentrix Dunoon, reflected on the accolade: “It’s incredibly motivating for the entire team to see our efforts celebrated. Looking ahead, Dunoon has exciting plans – like adding a small orchard, a polytunnel, and more accessible planters – so everyone can join in nurturing our thriving bee garden and fostering sustainability together.”

A Step Closer to Our 2030 Goal

Philip Cassidy, Executive Vice President, Strategic Projects and Corporate Strategy, said: “These awards are more than just recognition – they represent our collective effort to create sustainable workplaces and meet our ESG targets. By 2030, we aim for all Concentrix-owned sites to meet the Sustainable Building Standard, and Maysfield and Dunoon are leading the charge.”

Concentrix is committed to making significant strides in its commitment to ESG principles, unveiling a series of other ambitious initiatives aimed at enhancing sustainability across its operations in the UK.
