Fragile, off-balance, and overlength – no problem for MSC Project Cargo 💪✈️ In this video, Bob Langerak, Project Cargo Manager at MSC Netherlands, takes us behind the scenes of a complex move: 8 passenger bridges – the walkways from the terminal to the airplane – shipped from Yantian to Rotterdam, before heading to Munich Airport. While the total weight was close to 300 metric tonnes, it wasn’t the weight that made this move challenging – it was the fragility of the cargo, made up of over 50% glass, combined with an off-centre centre of gravity and tight spacing on deck. Take a behind-the-scenes look at how MSC is putting sustainability into action – from vessels to rail to repair yards 💛🚢 We recently welcomed senior supply chain leaders from 12 multinational companies to Antwerp for a closer look at the tangible steps we’re taking to support their Scope 3 goals. During two days on site, they explored MSC’s sustainability efforts firsthand – from dual-fuel LNG vessels and electric yard equipment to inland rail and container repair. The experience sparked powerful conversations about partnership and collective action. A sea of yellow in the heart of Hamburg! 💛🚢 🎉 On Saturday, more than 100,000 people joined us at the Landungsbrücken for the MSC Yellow Festival – our biggest-ever public event. The day was filled with music, street performances, and activities for all ages, and ended with the naming of our new LNG dual-fuel vessel, MSC Germany, beside the Elbphilharmonie. The grand finale featured fireworks, a drone show, and a live performance by Zoe Wees – all on a floating stage on the Elbe. The festival marked MSC’s new partnership with the Port of Hamburg and was our way of introducing ourselves to the public of a city that’s been part of our story for many years. A heavy lift in Augusta, Italy! 🏋️🚢 We recently completed the transport of two 135-tonne transformers from Damietta, Egypt to Augusta, Italy – on a dedicated, one-time service outside our regular trade routes. Mobile cranes at Augusta were used to carefully discharge the cargo, demonstrating the precision needed to handle oversized and complex shipments. This milestone also marked the first-ever project cargo handled at the Port of Augusta. 🎥 Watch the discharge of one of the transformers in the video below.
