Care is provided through four hospitals - Belleville General Hospital, North Hastings Hospital, Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital and Trenton Memorial Hospital - and includes four emergency departments, operating rooms at three sites, a rehabilitation day hospital, children's treatment centre, ambulatory care clinics, community mental health programs and a range of diagnostic services. There are inpatient beds for acute medical patients, intensive care, obstetrics, paediatrics, mental health, complex continuing care, rehabilitation and surgery. Our 1700 staff members, along with 364 professional staff with privileges including doctors, nurse practitioners and mid-wives, provide primary and secondary patient care. Through partnership and innovation, the teams at the four hospitals of Quinte Health provide exceptional health care services to the residents of the area, close to home. Our vision over the next five years is to foster healthier, more connected people and communities. We will achieve this by working even more closely between our teams, hospitals and partners to provide care as close to home as possible and to help build a stronger health care system for the future. The pandemic has reinforced the value of teamwork and collaboration, and that we are indeed stronger together. Many of the challenges facing hospitals today can only be solved in true partnership. Our Values: Imagine it's you, Value everyone, Stronger Together, and We all make a difference.

Curiosity and collaboration filled the air as Quinte Health welcomed team members to this year’s Skills Fair— an event designed just for them. Held across all Quinte Health hospitals, the Skills Fair offered a unique opportunity for staff to engage in practical learning, ask questions, and share knowledge in a hands-on, supportive environment. There was a lineup of displays, built by several team members and community partners, like Hospice Quinte. One corner highlighted Quinte Health’s commitment to quality through fun, interactive games, while across the room, a colourful board shared essential information about diet orders and allergies. Friendly conversations and shared curiosity echoed throughout the space. At one of the stations, Liza Van de Hoef, a Social Worker, used a memorable analogy to help others understand the experience of aphasia, a common condition after stroke that affects communication. “I asked staff to imagine chewing saltwater taffy while trying to explain an urgent personal health concern to a health care provider. You know exactly what you want to say—but the words just won’t come out,” Liza explained. “That’s what it’s like for many stroke survivors with expressive aphasia. Their intelligence is still intact, but their ability to speak is impaired. It can be frustrating and isolating. In healthcare, we build ramps for people with physical disabilities—but we also need to build communication ramps for people with invisible disabilities.” Whether it was a team lead, professional practice team member, dietary aide, or nurse, everyone had something to learn—and something to share. “I am so grateful to all of the wonderful nurses that helped me during my unexpected stay on the Quinte 7 floor. Being away from my newborn for a week was hard but every single nurse I encountered made my stay much more bearable. Everyone was so encouraging, helpful, and willing to converse to keep my mind off of things. My husband and I were given a pack of cards to keep busy one day. One of my daughters was given a stuffed animal on two separate occasions! The nurses on Quinte 7 really go that extra mile to keep their patients relaxed and feeling more at home.” -A grateful patient Learn how you can say ‘thank you’ to #TeamQuinteHealth: https://lnkd.in/gSpf23qt #Care #ImagineItsYou

Imagine you need surgery. A major one—like a hysterectomy. You’ve never had surgery before, apart from wisdom teeth removal when you were 16. This is different. You’re anxious, unsure, and full of questions. Now, imagine having a personal guide every step of the way. A digital companion to help you prepare for surgery, walk you through recovery, remind you when to take your meds, and even teach you how to care for your incision. Sounds reassuring, right? Well, there’s an app for that. It’s called SeamlessMD, and thanks to a partnership between Quinte Health’s Surgical Program and Digital Innovation team, this creative, digital solution is now supporting patients undergoing six major types of surgery. Quinte Health recently received SeamlessMD’s Patient Advocacy Award for achieving the highest enrollment rate among eligible patients—a clear sign that this approach is resonating with the community. “I’m incredibly proud of our team,” said Kristina Cruess, Director of Quinte Health’s Surgical Program. “SeamlessMD allows us to extend our care into patients’ homes. It builds confidence, enhances safety, and keeps patients engaged in their recovery in a really meaningful way.” Learn how it works: https://lnkd.in/giiJqcqm Pictured (from left): Debbie Gerow, Pre-surgical Assessment Team Lead; Jessica Mossey, Telemedicine Coordinator; Nathalie Shaw, Pre-surgical Assessment Clerk; Brooke Lynch, Pre-surgical Assessment Nurse; Colin Catt, Virtual Care and Clinical Informatics Technical Specialist— some of the fantastic Quinte Health team members who help get patients connected to SeamlessMD and monitor their recovery. #Connection #StrongerTogether #DigitalHealth #PatientCare
