Windows Autopatch - monthly summary emails not received anymore
Hi, I am wondering whether anyone has the same experience -> I was receiving Monthly Quality Update Summary email from Windows Autopatch service configured in Intune. However, for last two months, this email has not arrived. I still receive the other notification email about Autopatch Advisory informing about how the updates will be deployed for the month, but not the summary email. Any idea if anything has changed? It was very useful for my monthly reporting....sumo83Jul 14, 2025Iron Contributor128Views2likes1CommentAutopatch Readiness Not Ready
I've recently started rolling out Autopatch in our environment. I've started see devices registered with an Autopatch readiness state of Not ready. A majority of those devices are showing a Conflicting Configuration for the registry key SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\DoNotConnectToWindowsUpdateInternetLocations. But on all the devices I've looked at that key is set to 0. Which means that setting is explicitly disabled. So, it should allow devices access to the internet for Windows Updates. As far as I can tell we're not setting that regkey anywhere explicitly in a GPO. All of our devices are CoManaged with SCCM. So, I'm assuming this is something SCCM is setting. What's confusing to me is the Microsoft documentation I've looked at regarding conflicting configuration states it's looking at any setting for that existing registry key. But, if that registry key exists and it's explicitly allowing internet access to Windows Updates why would that be a problem? My other concern is if I do the suggested remediations and delete that registry key all together am I going to break something else? Or, if I delete the key, is SCCM just going to add it right back?edbachtaJul 01, 2025Copper Contributor234Views0likes3CommentsAre A3 and A5 licenses not good enough to get Windows Autopatch?
Si i came across an article on the Autopatch and thought i want to try that. i looked at the prereq's and thought i have all that. went to my Endpoint Manager console and Windows Autopatch is not there. i read it should automatically be there if you meet the requirements. i thought i did, i have EPM setup and devices are co managed and are hybris azure ad joined. the only difference in the prereq's that i saw was that it said E3 licenses and above. i am in the education sector and i have A3 and A5 licenses. are they not the same as the E3 and E5 equivalent? Is this why i dont see Windows Autopatch available to my tenant?Michael54May 13, 2025Copper Contributor3.3KViews2likes6CommentsAutopatch Client Setup v2 - Time Outs
Hi All Since our tenant was upgraded on 25/02 we've seen intermittant timeouts during the Autopilot process and those failing seem to happen on the installation of the Autopatch client set up. We're also seeing over 2k failures on the installation of the new client. Has anybody seen anything similar? (Snippet from Anoop's Blog - Link Below) Sign in to the Microsoft Endpoint Manager admin center https://endpoint.microsoft.com/ Navigate to Devices > Windows Autopatch, and click on Devices. Under Windows Autopatch, Devices. The Ready tab shows devices successfully registered to the Windows Autopatch service. Select the device(s) you want to deregister in either the Ready or Not ready tab. Once a device or multiple devices are selected, select Device actions, then select Deregister device. Hello, Could somebody explain the difference between groups—manually created groups and assigning them in tenants—autopatch groups (Test and Last) and bunches of "Modern..." auto-created groups? Where do I have to add my computers if I need to add them to Update RIngs? And what about Office and Edge groups, i dont see them in any configurations... thanksSergo777Jan 14, 2025Occasional Reader62Views0likes0CommentsAPI Call for Windows Quality Update Reports
Would like the ability to use an API call to grab the Windows Quality Update Report in Windows Autopatch. Can anyone provide me with the powershell script that is created in endpoint manager? I unintentionally overwrote it and we are supposed to role out autopatch in early march. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have created a ticket with microsoft but they are wanting me to wait a few weeks as they say they are in the process of updating the script. How can we expedite 365 apps updates with autopatch ? is that still like this ? https://www.anoopcnair.com/expedite-microsoft-office-apps-updates-365/ Or can we use the expedite baseline and autopatch will take 365 apps along for the ride ? We are looking to blocks this, autopatch is slowly doing its thing, but with no view into what 365 app updates its actually pushing, the org is putting preassure to expedite.
