Hello, Marvy!
I’m not sure if you live in the U.S. or England, but I wanted to address your question about “development.”
In the U.S., “development” is typically not considered a specific career on its own — it’s usually a job function or a department within a company. You also didn’t mention which field you’re interested in, which makes it a bit harder to give detailed advice.
The most important thing is to choose a career path you genuinely enjoy, rather than trying to predict future trends. Many people start companies and later expand internationally — this has been done for decades and continues today.
Your first step should be to clearly define the field you want to pursue. Remember, a skill is not the same as a career. Also, consider whether your chosen field might allow you to eventually start your own business, where you could lead development efforts yourself.
Once you have a clearer idea of your specific area of interest, feel free to come back with more detailed questions — I’d be happy to help further.
Some examples of fields where “development” roles exist include real estate, technology, software, corporate business, entertainment, and medical equipment. Of course, there are many more possibilities you can explore.

Hi Marvy, I really like Michelle's answer. To add to her answer, I have a couple questions. When you think about what specific field of work you would like to pursue, go a little deeper. Within specific fields of work there are more specific careers you can plan for. I would suggest you find a couple specific fields of work and go shadow a couple individuals for a day doing this type of work. You will learn a lot about what they do, the possibility of what career opportunities are available with growth. After that hopefully you have narrowed down your choice. Then start thinking about Time, the amount of time you will have to spend working on this specific field of work and is this something that will interest you for this long. Some individuals think they will love this area of business until they get into it and have to work it for 8 hours a day or more 5 days a week. So make sure you really enjoy what you do, because there will be struggles. After you figure this part out then I would focus on how to get the job.
How to get this job will rely on your resume, your networking, internships and communities you have been working with during your schooling. Take the time to prepare and get ready for your interviews. Know the company that you are interviewing with. I know you will do great.

Hello, Marvy !
I am not sure if you live in England or the U.S. but I wanted to respond to your question about "development"
If you live in the U.S., development is not exactly a career, rather it is a job duty or a department within a company. You didn't say what field of work you're thinking about either, so I am limited as to what advice I can give you. Also, you should choose a career that you love without trying to guess what will happen in the future. People have always built companies and if they wanted, they expand to various countries. It's been done for decades and is still being done.
Your first step is to be specific about which field of work you want to go into. Try not to confuse a skill with a career. Also think about if whatever you want to do lends itself to opening your own business where you would be in charge of development. Feel free to return here after you've decided the actual field of work you're thinking about or research further online for specific careers that hire professionals to be involved in development at their company.
Some fields of work in which people do development are Real Estate, Technology, Software, Corporate Business, Entertainment Studios and Medical Equipment, but I am sure that there are a lot more that you can find.
If you return with a more specific question perhaps you can receive additional information about this. I wish you all the best !
